The theory claims that \u201cscientists\u201d discovered the mysterious structure in 2012, using \u201ctechnology unknown to modern science.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conspiracy theorists believe that the glass pyramid is to blame for the disappearance of several planes and ships in the Bermuda Triangle area.<\/p>\n

Reports that circulated online in 2012 suggest that a scientist, named Dr. Meyer Verlag, discovered the glass pyramid, which was \u201cthree times the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Before It\u2019s News website: \u201cDr. Verlag believes that further investigation into the secrets at the center of the pyramids could reveal more information about the cases of mysterious disappearances associated with the Bermuda Triangle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reports claim that Dr. Verlag presented his findings at a press conference held in the Bahamas, where he revealed the exact coordinates of the pyramids.<\/p>\n

Despite these claims, there is no evidence that Dr. Verlag exists, and there is no record of the coordinates she supposedly announced.<\/p>\n

Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Handbook, told MailOnline: \u2018There is always a mystique about pyramidal structures.<\/p>\n

\u2018The \u201cfact\u201d that it is constructed of crystal gives it an additional layer of mystery and power, implying that it generates magical healing and paranormal forces.<\/p>\n

\u2018As with most claims, we need to investigate further and find out if such a building exists, and if so, how it correlates with disappearances within the Bermuda Triangle.<\/p>\n

\u2018Right now it appears to be an Internet story that cleverly incorporates beliefs in three major paranormal \u201cmysteries\u201d popularized in the 1970s, namely pyramidology, the power\/healing of crystals, and the wondrous Bermuda Triangle. covering all sorts of unusual events in an area spanning a vast area of \u200b\u200bocean. \u2018<\/p>\n

Snopes, a fact-checking website, also debunked the claims in an article published in 2013.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u2018Despite claims that in 2012, \u201cAmerican and French research teams stumbled upon an underground structure rising from the seabed\u201d in a discovery that \u201cshocked scientists around the world,\u201d search in vain to locate the identities of (or any other information about) these supposed \u201cresearch teams\u201d or evidence of articles, photos, videos or anything else documenting their incredible discovery.<\/p>\n

\u2018The only mystery here is how scientists around the world could have been \u201cshaken\u201d by something they have never seen and that only exists in made-up paranormal pseudodocumentaries.\u2019<\/p>\n
