A Catholic priest in Washington, D.C. has reportedly been removed from his role as an exorcist after making controversial comments linking UFOs to demons.

Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, a well-known priest, psychologist, and longtime exorcist, had served as chief exorcist in the Archdiocese of Washington for more than 15 years.

But after a May 29 video where he discussed UFO sightings and alien life, things changed fast.

In the video, Rossetti said he personally believes “many, if not most,” UFO sightings could actually be demonic activity.

His argument was that demons like to hide, manipulate perception, and influence people without being clearly recognized.

Basically, his view was not “aliens are visiting Earth.”

It was more like, “be careful; this may be something spiritual pretending to be something else.”

That comment landed badly with Church leadership.

Cardinal Robert McElroy, the Archbishop of Washington, reportedly relieved Rossetti of his exorcist duties on June 3, saying the remarks undermined official Catholic teaching on demons and exorcism.

The archdiocese also cut ties with the Saint Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal, the nonprofit Rossetti heads.

Rossetti later apologized, saying he was saddened by the decision and asking forgiveness for any ways he had not been faithful to Church teaching.

Now, this story hits right in the middle of a much bigger conversation.

As UFO and UAP files keep getting released, some people are looking at the phenomenon through science, military technology, drones, balloons, or classified aircraft.

Others are looking at it through religion.

Angels.
Demons.
Spiritual deception.
Ancient texts.
Biblical wheels.

And apparently, that conversation is getting heated enough that even an exorcist can lose his official role over it.

So what do you think, did Rossetti go too far, or is the UFO debate moving into territory religion has been warning about for a long time?
