Indian Ocean<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 More than a decade after Malaysia Airlines Flight\u00a0MH370<\/strong>\u00a0mysteriously disappeared with 239 passengers and crew on board, the world remains without definitive answers. Now, a controversial new theory by a group of independent researchers has reignited debate:\u00a0Could the aircraft have entered an anomalous zone in the southern Indian Ocean \u2014 a so-called \u201cdeath triangle\u201d similar to the Bermuda Triangle?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Data released by British satellite company Inmarsat in 2014 suggested that MH370 veered sharply off its scheduled flight path and continued flying south for several hours before vanishing from all tracking systems somewhere over the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n

A recent study conducted by researchers at an independent geophysical institute in New Zealand claims that the aircraft\u2019s last known location overlaps with a region exhibiting\u00a0unusual magnetic disturbances and gravitational anomalies<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 factors that may have interfered with the plane\u2019s navigation systems.<\/p>\n

Dr. Elias Moore, lead researcher on the study, explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not talking about science fiction like wormholes or alien abductions. What our data suggests is that in this area, there are\u00a0fluctuations in gravitational fields and anomalies in local space-time structure<\/strong>\u00a0that could affect aircraft systems in unpredictable ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to Moore, under very rare conditions, certain regions of the Earth\u2019s crust and magnetosphere may align to create a localized rift \u2014 an unexplored geophysical phenomenon that could, in theory, disrupt electromagnetic instruments or even cause aircraft to go undetected.<\/p>\n

The theory, however, has met with significant skepticism.
Professor Michael Tan, an aviation safety expert at the National University of Singapore, stated:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe MH370 case is one of unprecedented complexity, and while it\u2019s tempting to turn to extreme theories, we need to be careful about drawing conclusions without empirical evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Similarly, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) emphasized that no abnormal geophysical activity has been officially recorded in the southern Indian Ocean that would pose known risks to aviation.<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Local fishermen in parts of the Maldives and Indonesia have long claimed to witness \u201ca streak of light falling into the sky\u201d on the night of March 8, 2014. While such testimonies remain unverified, they continue to fuel public fascination and speculative investigations.<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

To date, only a handful of confirmed MH370 debris fragments have washed up along the coast of East Africa. The main wreckage remains undiscovered, and the official search was suspended in 2018.<\/p>\n

Though the idea of a \u201cdeath triangle\u201d remains outside the bounds of accepted science, it reflects the growing frustration over the unanswered questions surrounding MH370\u2019s disappearance \u2014 and the human urge to seek meaning in the unknown.<\/p>\n

As Dr. Moore puts it:<\/p>\n
