Elsa Schröder’s Encounter with Semjase in the Iranian Desert (1975)

In February 1975, during a trip through the Middle East, 35-year-old German Elsa Schröder allegedly crossed desert regions of Iran. According to her own account, she was camped in an isolated area near the city of Zahedan, in the southeast of the country, when the supposed encounter occurred.

On the morning of February 19, 1975, around 7 a.m., Elsa was awakened by an unusual sound that caught her attention. The noise did not seem to be caused by the wind or any desert animal, but resembled the operation of a machine or mechanical equipment in a region where there should be no such source.

She left her tent to investigate and walked towards the sound. Upon reaching a rise in the dunes, she allegedly saw a woman dressed in a tight-fitting silver metallic suit. The woman was using an unknown piece of equipment that appeared to be used to locate or retrieve something buried in the sand.

Elsa then approached and asked in English what the woman was doing there. According to a letter later written by Schröder, the answer was simple and direct:

“I’m looking for something that fell here.”

Shortly after, the woman reportedly found an object buried in the ground. The artifact was described as a metallic piece in the shape of a spiral or cylinder. According to the account, the object was not carried manually: it had risen into the air by some kind of unknown force and moved to a craft that was parked a few meters away.

The craft was described as a metallic object resembling a disc, supported by landing structures. It remained completely silent, with no apparent engines or any sound emission.

Surprised by the situation, Elsa asked the woman if she lived in that region, specifically in Zahedan. The answer was reportedly:

“No, this place is very hostile. I come from a very distant place.”

During the conversation, the woman revealed her name as Semjase. After a few minutes of interaction, she walked to the craft and entered the object. According to the account, the craft then rose vertically without making a sound, remained suspended for a few moments, and then accelerated rapidly, disappearing into the sky.

After the event, Elsa Schröder reportedly wrote a letter recounting her experience to Billy Eduard Albert Meier, who was known for claiming to maintain contact with extraterrestrial beings. In materials later published by Meier’s followers, Semjase allegedly confirmed the encounter and explained that he was recovering a kind of device called a “time spiral,” which had been lost in that region.

The case became part of the literature related to Billy Meier’s contacts and became known as Elsa Schröder’s encounter with Semjase in Zahedan, Iran, in 1975.
